Microsoft has released a new version of the Remote Desktop Client for it’s Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server Code Name “Longhorn” line-up of OS to enable computers running Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP 1 to connect remotely via terminal service to administer remote computers.

For something that comes free and built-in into some Operating Systems [read: *nix), there are a couple of 3rd party tools (including Microsoft's own) to enable the replication of the Virtual Desktop concept on Windows.
