By setting it to Autoscroll, you get back the middle-click functionality. Although I have a different problem,the middle mouse button doesn't register half the time I press down on it. I've worked around this by making the left tilt into the middle function. I figured I have gotten along fine without sideways scrolling on a mouse for the ten years I've owned a computer, so I won't miss that functionality.
